About
I'm Prabhjot Singh, and I've run finance across five industries in eight years — mining at Vedanta, consumer durables at Mitsubishi, PE-backed logistics at Rivigo, a credit business built from scratch at Groww, and now finance and legal at Moxie Beauty, a Series A D2C haircare brand. This site is where I write down what that job actually teaches you.
Why I write this
Open LinkedIn and finance writing splits two ways: textbook explanations of things you already know, or confident hot takes from people who've never had to actually make the call. There's a third thing that almost nobody writes — what finance looks like from inside the operator's seat. The treasury decision with a real penalty attached. The credit negotiation where the quoted rate isn't the real one. The quarter that looks great until you read it properly.
That's what I write. Twice a week, the real version: operator finance — how a growing company actually handles its money — and personal finance for people at the operator stage, where earning more makes the decisions harder, not easier.
Everything here comes from work I've actually done, with the numbers attached. No theory I haven't run myself.
The path here
Every role added a different muscle. The common thread: finance as both the strategy and the execution — usually building the function while running it.
Where this is going
The writing is the open part. The toolkit is the practical part — the same trackers and checklists I run myself, free. And increasingly I work directly with founders and operators 1:1, on the actual decisions in front of them. If that's useful to you, the door's open.
