About

I'm Prabhjot.

I'm Prabhjot Singh, and I've run finance across five industries in eight years — mining at Vedanta, consumer durables at Mitsubishi, PE-backed logistics at Rivigo, a credit business built from scratch at Groww, and now finance and legal at Moxie Beauty, a Series A D2C haircare brand. This site is where I write down what that job actually teaches you.

Why I write this

Most finance content is theory or noise.

Open LinkedIn and finance writing splits two ways: textbook explanations of things you already know, or confident hot takes from people who've never had to actually make the call. There's a third thing that almost nobody writes — what finance looks like from inside the operator's seat. The treasury decision with a real penalty attached. The credit negotiation where the quoted rate isn't the real one. The quarter that looks great until you read it properly.

That's what I write. Twice a week, the real version: operator finance — how a growing company actually handles its money — and personal finance for people at the operator stage, where earning more makes the decisions harder, not easier.

Everything here comes from work I've actually done, with the numbers attached. No theory I haven't run myself.

The path here

Five industries, one through-line.

Every role added a different muscle. The common thread: finance as both the strategy and the execution — usually building the function while running it.

Moxie BeautyHead of Finance & Legal · 2025–now
Joined a D2C haircare brand at ₹70 Cr ARR, pre-Series A, to build finance and legal from scratch. Led a ₹130 Cr Series A end-to-end and closed ₹15 Cr+ in debt within the first six months — and built the operating model the founders and investors run capital allocation off.
GrowwSr. Manager, Business Finance · 2022–25
Owned the P&L for Groww's credit vertical from start-up to scale — ₹2,500 Cr+ AUM. Raised ₹500 Cr+ in debt through securitisation, and led the ICRA rating process to an 'A' rating — industry-leading for a new NBFC.
RivigoManager, FP&A · 2021–22
Ran P&L, unit economics and working capital for a ₹1,000 Cr revenue business, reporting to PE investors including Warburg Pincus and Elevation Capital. A GST restructuring I led saved ₹12 Cr a year.
Mitsubishi ElectricAsst. Manager, FP&A · 2020–21
Led M&A evaluation in the air-conditioning segment — fundamental analysis, valuation, and market positioning for potential acquisitions.
Vedanta (ESL)Associate Manager, FP&A · 2018–20
Drove ₹30 Cr in annual fixed-cost savings through a structured cost-control framework (CEO Kitty Award), and helped close an $85M acquisition end-to-end.

Where this is going

From writing to working together.

The writing is the open part. The toolkit is the practical part — the same trackers and checklists I run myself, free. And increasingly I work directly with founders and operators 1:1, on the actual decisions in front of them. If that's useful to you, the door's open.
